ABOUT

NYC Talent Show is a long-running weekly event that provides an open stage for performers of all kinds in New York City.

Before there was NYC Talent Show there was "Show and Tell" in the early-2000s hosted by The O'Debra Twins Tonya Ritchie and Diane Langan.

Once Show and Tell ended, Victor Varnado then teamed up with the late-great Diane Langan "O'Debra" in 2009 to launch the NYC Talent Show at the Bowery Poetry Club.

The show lived at Bowery Poetry Club for quite a while, then moved to the Creek and the Cave in Long Island City. After a hiatus during the pandemic, the NYC Talent Show has now made its triumphant return at The Parkside Lounge in NYC, with over 15 years of history behind it.

Varnado, the current host, is a scientist, comedian, cartoonist, and self-proclaimed "idiot." His co-creator Diane O'Debra sadly passed away, but she was so cool they named a bar after her.

The format gives performers 3 minutes each week to showcase their diverse talents, from comedy to music to poetry and more with weekly nationally and internationally known features and drop-ins rounding out the show.

It continues to be a beloved community event that has showcased both big names and up-and-coming talents over its storied run.
